There is a fall in the standard of education in the world especially among Generation Z, this is very much in Africa as so many students have left their studies or kept them pending only to focus on content creation across all social networks, this made them pay little or no attention on their studies.
on the other hand, parents are not helping matters, today’s parents are after money, some of them even advise their teenage kids who should be in school to go out there and hustle while some leave their children to their faith every morning to go out in search of money, this negligence in the side of parents has cause harm than good in our Educational system.
Lack of dedication and passion on the side of the teachers has also caused a decline in the standard of Education, most teachers are not being well accessed before given employment, the list is endless
POINTS FROM STREET ANALYSIS
PARENTS ARE TO BE BLAMED (FIRST SPEAKER)
Well I think that parents are to be blamed for the falling standard of education, this is a result of negligence on the side of parents, some parents don’t know the level of academic performance of their children, they don’t check their children’s notebook nor assignments or anything that has to do with school, they don’t know their children’s favorite subjects or even the one that they are performing badly, the worst of it is that they don’t pick their children’s result at the end of the term, how will you know your child’s performance if you fail to analyze their results and look for a solution on their poor performance, those children will end up as half baked graduates in the future… thank you
SECOND SPEAKER
Well, I’m in line with what the first speaker said, I will blame the parents for the low standard of education this is a result of the lack of provision of materials which facilitate learning, this material includes the necessary textbooks, paying for school fees on time, notebooks, writing materials, and so on when the parents failed to provide all these things on time, it devastates and affects the child’s performance, they may be driven from school and may not queue in properly with what has been taught in school.
TEACHERS ARE TO BE BLAMED (THIRD SPEAKER)
I will blame the teachers for this menace, the reason is that there are teachers and there are cheaters, most of the people you see in the teaching sectors are cheaters, not teachers, and most of them don’t know their onions, how will you impact on students that know more than you, most of them are the half baked graduates that we are talking about, all they do is garbage in garbage out, some give their students textbook to copy, there is no how you can give what you don’t have, a half baked graduates who teach students end up producing a half-baked graduate like them…
FORTH SPEAKER
The teachers are to be blamed for this problem, as a teacher you should enjoy your work, you should have passion in what you are doing, by so doing you will change even a brain that has refused to accept, most teachers lack passion in teaching, some want to be going out every morning because their neighbors are doing so, while some want the salary and doesn’t care about the goal, a teacher who depend only in the salary and not in the student’s affair, t will end up producing half baked… thank you
THE STUDENTS ARE TO BE BLAMED (FIFTH SPEAKER)
The students are to be blamed for the falling standard of education, this is because students no longer study as expected of them, the word student according to the Oxford Learners Dictionary means people who learn and study a particular subject but this meaning doesn’t mean, it doesn’t rhyme with today’s students, some of them prefer spending their parent’s little income on examination malpractice than studying their books, he who fails to study will come out empty in the future, thus half baked.
(SIXTH SPEAKER)
The students have greater blame for this problem, The reason has been that a heart that has refused to accept or accommodate or assimilate will never accept nor assimilate, even if you travel around the whole world, they will never accept, some students have refused to accept learning, they spend their precious time on the social network, rather than studying, a little assignment that a student can simply sit and solve, they will go to the internet and start searching for the answer, the brain is no longer creative, it has become useless in the life of today’s students, a student who writes the letter via the internet can never write a letter on his own in her entire life, the internet is for research, just like the textbook, its for you to upgrade yourself and not for solving simple assignments. This can cause the student to lack the confidence to do things independently.
SOLUTIONS TO THE ABOVE-LISTED CAUSES
The solution is simple, parents should be up and doing concerning their children’s academic affairs, they should make sure that they check their children’s notes, and assignments and always try to find out from their form teacher where the students are not doing well, they should also pick their result at the end of every term to find out their failed subjects and how to help them improve on it. when they constantly check their children’s best subjects, they will also note the course of study that will befit their children and direct them appropriately for the future…
Parents should provide the necessary materials that their children need before resumption, it’s not easy but it’s a price that they must pay to produce better children who will make a better generation, school fees and other necessities should be provided before time, this will enhance learning and productivity and in turns make an excellent graduates who will stand anywhere around the world, DR Ngozi Oknonjo Iwuala is a product of this solution. Her parents invested in her and today they are reaping the fruits. Thank you.
School owners should screen teachers properly, giving them tests before employing them, the employment status shouldn’t be based on the certificate alone but on all ramifications of education, their Speaking skills, writing skills, reading skills, intelligence quotient, emotional quotient, social quotient, and adversity quotient should be accessed thoroughly before giving employment, in that way, the school will have great teachers who will produce great students who will stand out in the world.
Students should represent the true meaning of studentship, Parents go to the market, offices, farms, etc. to look for money, their work is to go to school and learn, removing any form of malpractice from their mind, study as expected of them, take their test and assignments seriously, there won’t be any Jupiter who will stop them from standing the test of time…thank you
A teacher, if you know you can’t handle the skills associated with teaching, you shouldn’t try going into teaching, As a teacher, you should be patient, tolerance, disciplined, loving, and above all passionate about your work if you love your work, you will passionately pass the information to your students and they will passionately digest the information for greater productivity, don’t just focus on your salary, focus on the well being of the students, they will never forget your effort in time to come.
Students shouldn’t depend on the internet at all, men created this internet, and the brain can accommodate more than this internet so they should use their brain for assignments and other research, the internet should only be used when there is a need for it, to get a better result, students of secondary school should be cut off from internet and television, a famous CNN presenter by name Zane Asher narrated how her mum caught her off from phones and television and that helps her to become what she was today, this thing are distractions.
